Field color magnitude diagram analysis along the bulge major axis
We analyze background fields along the bulge major axis away from theGalactic center by 2.5, 13, and 31 deg. Our aim is to study the spatialdistribution of different stellar populations. A similar component ofyoung disk main-sequence population is present in all fields. The bulgecomponent prevails in the innermost field, decreases for the 13-deg one,and is essentially absent in the 31-deg one. Evidence for a weak oldmetal-poor component is seen in the three fields. In the 13-deg field wedetect a peculiar new feature which could be interpreted as anintermediate-age component, and traces of this population in the 2.5-degfield are also found. This might be an old disk component.
